Francis L. Ridge is the Director of the UFO Filter Center at Mt. Vernon, Indiana, doing special computer studies on regional and national UFO sightings.
He is also State Director and Field Investigator for the Mutual UFO Network,
and FI and researcher for the Center for UFO Studies.
His official experience with UFO investigation and research began at
Vincennes, Indiana, in 1968, when he was appointed Chairman of Indiana Unit No.
1 of the National Investigations COMittee on Aerial Phenomenon. His seven-man
team was one of four such NICAP teams in the state.
In 1972, after a transfer to Illinois, he became a State Section Director of
three counties for MUFON, at Hillsboro.
In 1973, his role shifted back to Indiana where he became the SSD for three
counties at Nt. Vernon. In order to facilitate the public's reporting of UFOs
to local authorities he established the UFO Filter Center and conducted
periodic PR work with the media and law enforcement. As part of this effort he
printed and mailed a monthly status report. A number of interested persons
throughout the area were designated "spotters", some were trained as field
investigators.
In 1986 he became State Director of HUFON Indiana. This is now known as The
Indiana Group. It consists of approximately 150 members and about 36 Field
Investigators.
Mr. Ridge is a PR Consultant with the Mid-Tech Corporation, an electronics
firm in Carmi, Illinois.

The computer research project began in 1986. Information used in the study
