Reverend Sytse Frederik Willem Roorda van Eysinga (1827-1897) was a Dutch clergyman and a leader of a Spiritualist circle in The Hague.
Like many other Spiritualists, his beliefs led him to protest Dutch colonization activities. This resulted in considerable animosity toward him which was detrimental to his position in the Protestant church. He was a follower of Elise van Calcar’s version of Spiritualism and wrote several books and many articles.
The preliminary biographical sketch for this entry relating to the history of Spiritualism in the Netherlands was kindly provided by Mrs. Loes Modderman in December 2013.
