This type of anti-cancer therapy involves the use uf viruses which selectively attack cancer cells, but leave normal cells unharmed. A number of scientists around the world have been doing research on this anti-cancer therapy and include:
1. Jia Weiguo, Ph.D., Deputy Director of One of the Shanghai Innovative Research Center - Traditional Chinese Medicine (SIRC-TCM). Since 1991, Dr. Jia Weiguo started employing gene engineering to modify viruses for the treatment of tumor and nervous system diseases. He was the first in Canada, as well as, one of the few scientists in the world, who made the initial trials of herpes simplex to cure tumors. This technique has been applied in the clinical treatment of many tumors in America, Europe and China.
