WorldCat is the largest and most comprehensive bibliographis database in the world, with more than 336 million bibliographic records. It is a union catalog that itemizes the collections of 72,000 libraries in 170 countries and territories that participate in the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) global cooperative.
What does FirstSearch provide that the online WorldCat search engine does not provide?

If you check the "Select All" button in the upper left corner of the results page, it only selects "all" that are on that page of results, not all of the total number of results. So if you have only 10 results per page, you get only 10 items selected when you click select all. And the "Select All" is not addative, in that if you select all on page one of the results and then go to page two and select all, it doesn't give you 20 results to export. It only gives you the 10 results on page two.

How to create bibliographic citation list of subject items found in WorldCat:
1. Log into your WorlCat account, or create one if you don't have it, and then log in. You must have a WorldCat account in order to create bibliographic lists;
2. How do you export the bibliographic citations to a spreadsheet?
You can export the lists of periodicals, books, etc. as a csv Excel spreadsheet with columns for title, etc. already made. You do not have to check "select all" when you export. WorldCat automatically selects the entire list you have created. But you can only make lists up to 500 rows. But since you can make unlimited lists, if a give subject result is more than 500, then make 499 on List # 1, then 499 on list # 2, and so on until all of the citations are save on OCLC lists. Then export them to Excel Spreadsheets and combine them to form one spreadsheet. Therefore, you can create bibliographic lists of books on any and every official LCSH subject, and export them to a Spreadsheet, and then add the spreadsheet to WISEwiki pages.
Does Worldcat separate out the duplicate citations that may appear within the results of of a given subject search, or duplicates that may show up under different subject headings?
The WorldCat official subject listings will be the "Base", and we will just add other to it as they are found.
Can you put certail subjects on a "Watch list", so that if any new items show up under a given subject heading you can be informed?
