The first International WISE conference and workshops at the historic Domus La Quercia Hotel in Viterbo, Italy, earlier this month (August 4-7) turned out to be a great success.
But what does that mean? At the end of the conference we took the time to receive feedback from the participants and here are some of the points they unanimously feel made it successful:
Atmosphere of true camaraderie
In many meetings or conferences, there is a feeling of competitiveness and even arrogance. We have all experienced the Question & Answer time at certain meetings, when the vultures appear to flock to either ask questions that are meant to destabilize the presenter, or to make pompous statements to the audience about how they know more about the topic than the presenters. This is not constructive behavior. Participants of the WISE conference agreed that such behavior was not only absent but that participants appeared to have a genuine interest in learning more from the presenter.
Lecturers had ample time to present their topic. We tried to allocate one hour to each presenter. This created enough space for the audience to mentally engage in the topic at a deeper level and thus formulate intelligent questions as well as providing enough content to continue conversations during free time.
Getting to know the human being behind the research. This was another well-appreciated point. In order to create opportunities for collaboration, individuals need to get to know one another on the human level. The combination of one-hour presentations, 30mn breaks, with lunch and evening free time enabled individuals to get to know each other and interact in an informal environment. Several collaborative projects were discussed and we look forward to receiving updates on the progress.
Attendees came from all over the world to include Korea, Australia, Russia, Canada, Finland, Spain, Holland, US, UK, and more. The inspirational venue, an ancient monastery, contributed to the convivial atmosphere. Breakfast was taken outside in the beautiful courtyard and dinners were served with candlelight and lovely local wines.
The Conference Theme: Life Energy, Syntropy and Resonance opened up a wide range of topics related to Life Energy. Perhaps the most striking concept to be introduced was that of Syntropy. (See separate article in this newsletter). The workshops added a different dimension in terms of applications and experiencing some of the concepts presented as lectures.
GRAZIE MILLE – THANK YOU !
Our warmest thanks to the organizers Dr. Antonella Vannini and Dr. Ulisse di Corpo who invested much of their time and personal energy in making sure all details were covered and making everyone feel welcome. Drs. Vannini and di Corpo are the co-directors of the new Syntropy Research Department within the Applied Consciousness Division of WISE. Their continuous research promises to generate more discoveries into the enigma of life energy especially as Dr. Vannini embarks on a new journey of university studies in biology.
